As a Chief Revenue Officer, Rik has worked all of his life in data and business development. He started as a Sales Manager for a soft- and hardware vendor. The following years he worked in several roles on CRM implementations, off- and online direct marketing campaigns, and as a database marketeer. In 2006 he started his first company and in 2015 he started The Information Lab Netherlands as co-founder and managing director. Juan Manuel Perafan has worked in analytics since 2017, focusing on Analytics Engineering, SQL, dbt, data governance, and business intelligence (BI). He has extensive experience helping organizations professionalize their data workflows and build robust data products.
In addition to his professional work, Juan is deeply involved in the data community. He is the co-author of Fundamentals of Analytics Engineering, a recipient of the dbt Community Award, and the host of the SQL Lingua Franca Podcast. He also founded the Analytics Engineering meetup in the Netherlands and the Dutch dbt meetup, creating spaces for professionals to connect and share knowledge.
