I am a Data Engineer with a background in Chemical Engineering and extensive experience in industrial and data-driven environments. My career spans various roles, from quality control and industrial process optimization to data analysis and business intelligence.
I worked as a Data Analyst at ChicksGold, maintaining and processing company databases while leveraging advanced programming in Google Sheets to analyze sales records. At Chevron, I was part of the petroleum chemical treatment team, developing a database to monitor and control processes, generating reports using big data and data science methodologies. Additionally, I gained experience in quality control at Protinal Pro Agro, ensuring industrial process compliance through data-driven monitoring.
I also worked as a Project Manager at Wear The Peace, where I analyzed and processed business and international shipping data using Google Sheets programming. I managed various company projects, including weekly performance reports, international shipments, lost packages, and financial loss tracking.
Currently, I am pursuing a Master’s in Data Science, Big Data & Business Analytics at the Complutense University of Madrid. My goal is to apply my technical expertise and analytical skills to drive data-informed decision-making and process optimization.
Juan Manuel Perafan has worked in analytics since 2017, focusing on Analytics Engineering, SQL, dbt, data governance, and business intelligence (BI). He has extensive experience helping organizations professionalize their data workflows and build robust data products.
In addition to his professional work, Juan is deeply involved in the data community. He is the co-author of Fundamentals of Analytics Engineering, a recipient of the dbt Community Award, and the host of the SQL Lingua Franca Podcast. He also founded the Analytics Engineering meetup in the Netherlands and the Dutch dbt meetup, creating spaces for professionals to connect and share knowledge.

As a Chief Revenue Officer, Rik has worked all of his life in data and business development. He started as a Sales Manager for a soft- and hardware vendor. The following years he worked in several roles on CRM implementations, off- and online direct marketing campaigns, and as a database marketeer. In 2006 he started his first company and in 2015 he started The Information Lab Netherlands as co-founder and managing director. Rik loves to share knowledge and exchange ideas with people about data and analytics.
I oversee Marketing & Communication, including organising corporate events, managing Customer Relationship Management activities, and supporting the sales department in creating new business opportunities for the company with the BDR team.
I graduated in Marketing and Corporate Communication. Throughout my professional journey, I have had the opportunity to deepen my understanding of the sector and develop strategies to meet the demands of the tech B2B world.
